Depending on the specifics of each case (players violation, players attitude, general atmosphere in the server and much more) the admin dealing with an infraction makes the call, whether to ban and for how long.
If you feel you've been banned unjustly, read the rules and post an appeal in the Courthouse using the appropriate template.
