What exactly would a staff member figure out by checking him self
Player logs on and staff get alerted
They check the ban etc and pretty much always come to conclusion of double account
How exactly are they going to not see this
They are obviously linked as using same gmod
We can't exactly goto there house to investigate

The only thing a player would have to support him is playtime while no ban

Variables not applicable to an automated system? As mentioned previously: Mingebag Underground. Users which openly support double accounters, banned users, and otherwise coming into the server to create havoc. The solution is to have admins study the players the double accounters frequent the most, and if these users are handing them large sums of money, weapons, ammo, cars, and otherwise without any real reason... You have just discovered a Mingebag Underground: By shutting it down you solve the problem of double accounters getting banned, and coming back and have a source of money and weapons.

The conclusion is not to look for Double Accounters, but instead look for players involved in much more serious rule breaking. Players that openly give hackers, double accounters, and otherwise the means to break rules and create havoc.

But you do have the tools to adminstrate the logs, cloak and follow the player on server, and then study the user's activities with good ol' fashion pen and paper. Think of it like a Cop RP. You are investigating a murder, and in order to book someone, you need more evidence.

But that player isn't the one you should be after. If players know of a double-accouters existence, and are not reporting it, and handing them weapons and money... Who is the more serious offender that should be dealt with?

I dont plan on searching "friends" of these people who double account to punish, its not a crime to be a friend, its just a game im not going to start banning people for having "knowledge" or help with items

people dont need help, they start with 10k, more than enough to cause havoc if they wanted

If these people are giving them money, weapons, and ammo, they are openly helping someone who has already been banned.
You cannot honestly be suggesting that this is acceptable behavior?

This was first and foremost implemented to close a "loophole" where doubleaccounters would find it easy to get around ban.

What you've been talking about in this thread is ofcourse something that should be looked into, but as already stated; We've restricted the use of family-shared games to make it harder for people to bypass bans.

Nothing is perfect, nor is this "action" that has been taken, but it's a start.

And this is the part where proxy's came in...

Seriously you can't avoid this. Only manual checking. I checked every bit of the feature and no, is not possible. Altough good luck with it.

Indeed, there are ways to bypass almost anything - at least this stops some of the less tech savvy people! Smile

When using proxy on other or virtual computer with the sharing feature on, you will be allowed to play the game while the other account is playing too because of the region restrictions. This is a bug.
