Help – I'm buying a PC

I’m literally so confused why everyone is saying good luck getting parts as everything around me is in stock. But maybe check out a part picker website or if you like pre builds, the HP Omen is quite nice

I'd love to see where you can find a decent GPU in stock at a reasonable price.

Lol I just went to a tech places yesterday to help a buddy of mine install his cameras. I went in the parts isle and they’re literally full in stock with great computer parts. Not to mention I checked Amazon and see everything available ?   Not that hard here

Ahh see that makes more sense. Considering we’re back to normal basically I found it a bit odd not being able to find parts

Has nothing to do with the lockdown, GPUs in particular are out of stock everywhere due to a global chip shortage - even last generation cards are gone. AMD CPUs are hit but not as badly, you can still find those around.

Now that we've got 2 pages of discussion and I've moved no further forward (cheers guys) – Prebuilt would be fine. I just don't know what's good and what's not good so hoped for a point in the right direction or some links for me to save.

Budget for the PC alone HAS to be above £2K but try keep it just above that. Other accessories I'll sort separately but would appreciate recommendations for those too.

Built through PCSpecialist (that's where i got mine from), priced at £2,243

NZXT case as they're one of the better for airflow and larger systems
Put the K version of the I9-11900 as it's unlocked
Got more storage than you'll need, SSD for the games, and HDD for crap
3080, cause you wanted price

I also just realised I put shitty Corsair vengence in, so I changed it to be faster (3200 instead of 2400) which brought the new price to £2,302- also to be 4 8GB stick rather than two 16's to better performance

It is pandemic related tho. there are few semi conductor manufactures, and they are all outsourced in china/tiwan. The trade war Donald trump caused with china and pandemic is the reason for the shortages. Following reasons is due to surge in demand from ppl staying home and needing PS5, new computers and crypto mining gear.
