I was using this until it broke down. I ran BF3 on the highest settings and I didn't experiance any lag. You don't need to spend $3,000. That's insane.

No man, you totally need those. I would also suggest getting a dual-octocore CPU overclocked to 4.5GHz for acceptable performance. You also need quad-SLI GTX 580's, because otherwise you'll go below 200 FPS, which is absolutely terrible for a hardcore gamer. Oh, and don't forget the memory, I suggest you'll get 32GB of pure DDR5 ram, because you will totally have to run 5 Battlefield 3's, 2 Furmarks and calculations of galactic trajectories at the same time. This is the utmost minimum for any acceptable PC-usage, deal with it.
