An honest mistake

Your name:Kenzi

Your SteamID:  STEAM_0:1:120565933

Your ban ID: 78700

Banned by:  [FL:T] Link66

Reason: Back seat administration, taking hostages in public as citizen // Was on last chance

Involved: Myself

Why we should unban you: In the video provided I started of as a Don Corelone. I changed to a citizen to ropeplay in the city at the casino. I forgot to change my job name to Criminal (like I always do). As for the hostage part TBH I was gonna murder him, but didnt wanna do it in the city so this was my best option, i decided to hostage him there as it was inside a building. Alos, i do not understand how this was backseat administration since he shot by me therefore i had a right to attempt and take him hostage.

Finally, I know I fucked up, but I just came off a 6 month ban, which i constantly made UBR's for and came on the day I was unbanned, so why would i come on to break more rules? Honestly it was a mistake. When i got unbanned I was also roleplaying as a chef in a resturant etc. Apart from me forgetting that i was a citizen I believe that the rule that might be considered broken is the hostage one which I think should end up in a long blacklist.

(Why would i upload a PR risiking a Permaban over someone getting a several day ban max?

Hi Kenzi,

I appreciate this raw and honest response to your permaban, and I am glad you have taken it better than most others.

Not changing your job to criminal was just a small fraction of the breakage. Even if you did change your job to criminal, you would still be breaking the public hostaging rule. On top of this, you were unarmed, so should have been afraid that he could just pull out a gun at any time and kill you. To tie this segment up, if you would have changed your job, you would have been powergaming, as you would have done so just so you could participate in some combat.

Someone shooting near you is not a good enough reason to hostage them. They have to be posing a threat to you with a valid reason for retaliation to occur, for example, being raided for contraband. This is true for all circumstances - if a police officer is shooting next to me at a criminal, I cannot change my job to 'criminal' and kill him, as the threat was not directed towards me.

It was considered backseat administration as he was breaking the rules, and it looked like to me that your justification for breaking all of the above rules was because no admin was on.

If you are saying that your intention wasn't to hostage him as he was breaking the rules, that puts you into much deeper trouble, as you have no excuse for the plethora of breakages you have committed.

Coming back from a six month ban, one would think it prudent to re-read the rules and make sure you stick to them all, as you were on your last chance and any slip up, big or small, could lead to a permanent ban, as it did.

Personally, I don't think this ban should be removed, as too many rules were broken. I am unconvinced that, in the future, you would be able to stick to them if unbanned. It's an unfortunate occurance that, in trying to rid the community of rule breakers, you convicted yourself of worse breakages than the person you were reporting!

Thanks,
Link

Alright man, i lasted 6months maybe if i make another UBR later (probs in a year) the outcome would be different. I personnaly dont think I break the rules that much and the rules i have broken now and in the past were not BIG rules and a perm is a just a bit harsh. I enjoyed playing here and unlike others would not DA or make a rude UBR as that simply dosnt justify my rule breakege. Still i belive a perm for around 20 mistakes in over a year playtime is harsh but i respect your decision.

Denied

Concluding notes

Unfortunately your UBR request will not be accepted at this time. Link has pretty much covered the rule breakage and the reason why this has resulted in a permanent suspension. In some ways I don't believe you intend on breaking the rules but you need to understand the severity of a last chance and ensuring you abide by the server rules especially when reporting someone. If I was you I would take a break and reflect on your behaviour, it will ensure you come back with a fresh mind and you'll probably feel better about it all too. We don't enjoy or get a kick out of banning our playerbase, so I really do hope you can return at some point and redeem yourself.

You can create another UBR following the UBR guidelines in relation to your ban.
