History
The Evo City Fire Department is responsible for ensuring the safety of the residents of Evo City by extinguishing any and all fires in the area, treating injuries and teaching residents, as well as the General Public, some important fire prevention information.

Up until 2008, Evo City was protected from fires from the much larger, much farther away Rockford Fire Department. This resulted in many buildings burning down, as well as many deaths. One fateful afternoon, February 9th, 2008, one of these deadly fires took the lives of one of Rockford's finest. The Rockford Fire Department immediately withdrew fire protection from Evo City, leaving the city defenseless against Fires. Later that week, after a minor fire broke out in a man's kitchen, a group of men walked into the government building and offered a solution. That solution: Bring the convenience of a small fire company to Evo City.

The government agreed, supplying the men with the budget to purchase 3 1987 KME 770 Fire Engines, an older, but sturdy engine that is still in use by the department today. The budget provided was also used to purchase Bunker Gear for the small company, as well as station-wear, and Class-A Uniforms. The small company quickly grew in numbers as more and more fires broke out, and is now the most respected job in Evo City. Tradition flows deep within the department as many of our Firefighters children have explicitly stated that they wish to join when they turn of age, and some have even started working throughout the station to keep it clean, as well as ensure that the 1987 KMEs are running well.

Equipment & Communication Information

The Evo City Fire Department utilizes a simple, clear text code system, using little to no 10-codes. We do, however, utilize the Phonetic Alphabet.

The Evo City Fire Department offers short tours of its primary station on Top Street during the hours of 09:00-17:00 (9am-5pm), given that the conditions are appropriate, that being that the weather is not of concern and there are no active calls. For more information, please contact an Officer.

The Evo City Fire Department utilizes 3 1987 KME 770 fire engines, which have the capability of carrying up to 500 gallons of water for use during calls. These engines can carry up to 6 hose lines as well as carry tool kits such as axes, Halligan bars, flashlights, fans, hydraulic spreaders, and plenty of room to spare for more equipment. We also utilize 3 Ford F-350 Ambulances and a 2014 Chevrolet Suburban Police package for our Chief, Deputy Chief, and Batallion Chief.

We utilize Morning-Pride TAILS turnout gear, as well as Cairns helmets, for our protection on calls, and it is mandatory that all responding firefighters, interior or exterior, officer or crew, wears their turnout gear at all times.

To apply to join the Evo City Fire Department, please fill out this form (Click Me!) and patiently await a response.

This group was partially inspired by a very old group made by a member, Equalizer. Said group is unfortunately inactive as the owner left the community.

Incident Report: 2017-08-02
ECFD CAD - Mutual Aid Request, 4017 Poplar Street, Rockford NY, Commercial Structure fire, building has been evacuated; Station Dispatched: E44, Units Recommended: B2, EMS 1

Begin report:
On August the 2nd, 2017 at approximately 09:42, a mutual aid request was sent to the ECFD dispatch center. Engine Company 44 was dispatched, and Batallion 2 was also requested, however, did not respond. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames on the roof and exterior of the building, with heavy smoke conditions and flames inside. Rockford Ladder 49 was on the scene to deploy onto the roof, as Rockford Engine Company 33 and 29 began an aggressive interior attack. ECFD units joined Rockford on their aggressive interior attack, pushing toward the cinema screening room. The fire in the main lobby was extinguished, leaving a heavy smoke condition. Upon entry into the screening room, no flames were found but a heavy smoke condition was present. Firefighters reported that the smoke was so thick that they were unable to see the seats in the screening room.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Rockford Bureau of Fire Prevention. All units on scene were: Rockford Engine Co 33, Rockford Engine Co 29, Rockford RIT (Rapid INtervention Team), Rockford Rescue 1, Rockford EMS, Rockford PD, ECFD Engine 44, New York State Police.
Thanks to the efforts of the above-listed agencies, the building was saved and is currently being repaired.

In other news:
Please welcome our two newest members of the Evo City Fire Department, Captain Julian Norwood, and Lieutenant Steve Grimes! Our two newest members will help the department hold what we call the "Thin Red Line", which is the line between chaos and peace. With their additions, that line just got a little thicker. Furthermore, harbrow qualifies for an interview with the ECFD. Please contact the Chief ASAP.

Please apply today and help the thin red line become the thickest that it has ever been. Last year, a staggering 101 firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty, dropping numbers in Firefighters nationwide by approximately 2 percent. While it may not sound like a lot, the families and departments of the deceased beg to differ. Joining today can help prevent deaths of on-duty firefighters by having more persons available for our RIT, or Rapid Intervention Team, which is primarily focused on the extraction of injured firefighters from burning buildings.

Apply today and help us help you.
