Indeed, it might be open or not, it's still a double door.

Uh well double door what are you talking about?
If there is enough space between the two doors it would be perfectly fine, you can't put it directly behind the gate, just like 2 meteres or something behind it, in my opinion that would be fine, if there are no more doors after that, e.g. at the elevator or stairs. Dare to think!
