Ever since the Adv. Dupe pasting error has been fixed recently, dupes don't seem to save color. For example my junkyard RP has a yellow crane but when I spawn the dupe it's white. It was colored before I saved the dupe.
I also noticed some other dupes doing this, it only seems to happen with new dupes.
Signature removed, inappropriate image.

not sure the cause, the only thing I added was a check to prevent error, basicly a very simple fix for the error, not fixed the cause of it,
the change prob related to the gmod update not the fix
however this info may help, as this may mean the error happens with colors

Yeah I've only just started realising this, but it does save certain parts. For example, on one side of the dupe I'll have perfect colour the way it was, but then on others it doesn't. Strange.

Save the advanced dupe to the server before you undo your build, then load it.
