Iphone 5S data roaming charges
#1
I recently got a new IPhone 5S and I am having a few issues and was hoping someone else out there could help. I am with 4G EE (not orange or T-Mobile. Actual EE itself) and I noticed I had been brought 100MB of data usage. I was fine with this as I don't surf the web a lot. For the whole day of using my phone I made sure I was connected to my home wifi when surfing so I did not waste it. When I turned my internet off at night I received a text from EE by the morning telling me all my data had been used.

I was hoping anyone would know how to stop the IPhone 5S roaming when your not on it. I have made sure Data roaming is off and no apps was running last night (unless one of them turned on to connect).
Thanks in advance,
Wood Chopper.
Kind Regards,
Wood.

Disable your mobile data completely.

Lol. I am not joking when I say this has happened to me but with another phone. I received, this X-Mas a Nokia phone. I have it with pay as you go and within 10mins of having the phone. I had completely depleted the data on it and thus left with £0. Make sure you have 3G AND 4G both off. If you have it on pay as you go, go back to the store and tell them what happened. That is what I have done and I got my money back.

I have 4G in the deal for free, EE does that. In reply to George it says that it will use Wifi. Does that mean it will only use wifi like at my house or it will use my data I pay for?

Do you have any tabs open in any browsers? That could be munching away at your internet.

I have the same prob with my 4 just turn mobile data off until you need it
Then off again when finished

And also use free wifi when out as much as poS
For example right now I'm in waterstones on their wifi under the name A Person and their promo spam mail going to an account that I have no access to Wink

Nope. I had double tabbed the centre button and closed off the internet.

Problem solved. Thank you George and Tandy for the solutions. If anyone was wondering I just turned of Cellular Data completely so now apps will only use wifi when I am connected at home.

Thanks again,
Wood Chopper.
