Black&Pink textures

i buyed gmod yesterday and watched for a server (now im on yours) but i just can see black an pink textures i didnt bought css and hl2 now do i need to ?

The Map Uses HL2 and CSS Textures, if you dont have those games ,then you should buy the games...

You don't need HL2. Garry's mod was, in the very beginning, a mod for half life. It became really popular, and thus it was a game on itself. Garry's mod uses the HL2 models and textures, but they are in gmod already.
You can have those DIPRIP and CSS as sort of Addon-ware. So yea.

The only game you really need to run on this server is CSS. You wont need hl2.

Your friend is correct. By downloading the model pack that the server has released you will be able to see every single thing on the map perfectly and you will have virtually no loading time.
