You'll also need to grasp and understand the language of LUA, and programming in general before you even attempt scripts btw. And you can't learn LUA in a week. (Well I suppose you could, if you were a fast learner and picked up on it quickly, or had experience with coding languages before, but something tell me you're neither.)

Python has a lot more real-life uses.

I'd still say you need to add a third option, C/C++

I love C++.

Compiling is literally as easy as clicking a button labelled 'compile' Tounge

I used Dev C++ from here http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

Has a built in compiler (as like all of them do).

S'up to you. C++ is more useful than LUA, but python's cool too
