Standalone – the separate version of his popular ARMA II zombie mod – has
started, with a public alpha still planned to begin in June.

DayZ Standalone will use a Minecraft-esque payment model: “People pay X amount
of dollars and they get early, cheap access to it, and then once it’s beta, price
goes up, maybe, say, $10, and once it goes retail, the price goes up $10.”

When asked if the standalone has had any testers, he replied with this:

When asked if they testers have started playing yet, Hall said, “They’re already in. They’re already playing it. It’s good… We’re only running one server. We are doing content updates all the time.”

Rocket Dean Hall has given out free-keys to people who were affiliated with the Standalone, Fourm moderators, reddit moderators and who have helped with develepment.

Wish my computer graphics were good enough to run this smoothly..

Zombie looks like it's diving in to hug the guy.

Glad Arma 3 will not be hosting this mod completely. I truly missed the actual Arma before 5 y/o hackers came along ruining the tactical gameplay.

Nevertheless I will be purchasing this game; pretty refurbished if you ask me.

Best thing is that ArmA 3 and Day Z will be using VAC for the anti-hacker moderation.

Tell me, how many times do you see hackers in a VAC protected game?

Almost none.

Just in case anyone has heard, there has been a leak of the very "early" build of the alpha game play of DayZ standalone, I recommend you do not search it up and just leave it be...

P.S I hate battleye...

As someone who's bee foll wing the game's development for a very long time, hope it lives up to its expectations.
There has been some controversy regarding the engine it uses, and other aspects that have to do with the guy who sold the DayZ to Bohemia interactive privately, and then took a 2 month vacation during the development time of the game, which is honestly very very shady.

Still, hoping not to get disappointed, hopefully weapon realism will stay at its top, along with all the survival aspects that DayZ intended to recreate.
