The first thing that comes into my mind is volume mixer. Check that Chromes volume bar is at the top. You probably have already tried this! :p

I did get it when my stereomix was on, had to restart pc, or restart chrome to get the sound working.

I have tried all that :/

You got stereomix on? Then try disable it

Else try disable all flash on chrome

Open a new tab and navigate to chrome://plugins/
At the top right, click on +Details
Scroll down until you see Flash
Disable all the flash player plugins.
Open a new tab and go to YouTube
Watch a video and you should be able to hear sound

Stereo Mix is a capture device, why would it have anything to do with his volume on youtube? Just wondering.

One more i will give shot with.

Press Shift + Esc to make the chrome task manager appear.
Then select the plugin Shockwave Flash, and click on End Process.

Now return to your page with the video, and refresh the page ( F5 ).

It's definitely only YouTube? Have you tried sound on other sites?
