Not anything new tbh, forums have been dead since discord became popular as they are somewhat outdated. Only reason we've kept it around is because of how long FL has had them for, but it has mostly just been announcements + occasional drama for the past few years. Don't think that'll ever change (attempts when FL was very popular didn't work either), and I don't see a benefit to removing them entirely.

Discord is nice for some chatter but a forum is a forum. Can't replace the magic that is an actual forum post.

For having actual conversations the forums will always be the best way. It is also where a main part of the persona of an FL player is. Or at least it was.
