Star Citizen is a upcoming space-sim/fps/mmo game. Crowdfunded. Currently in the early stages of Alpha.
Chris Roberts (Wing Commander, Freelancer, etc) is the mind behind Star Citizen, the company is called Cloud Imperium Games.
There will be two games, Star Citizen (MMO) and Squadron 42 (SP).
Star Citizen is open world game and will feature around 100+ systems, with one to 14 planets in each system at/after launch.
Squadron 42 is a single-player experience, you work for the UEE (United-Earths-Empire) and your job is to kill the Vanduul.
Squadron 42 will feature alot of famous actors - Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, Mark Strong and many more.
In the upcoming patch for Star Citizen, named 3.0 we will get the feature of planetary landing, cargo, mining, bounty hunting and much more. It is set to release sometime this year (aka SOON™).
