I'm not sure what caused this however it should be fixed now. I can't really debug it any further without being there when it happens but hopefully it should be a one-off. I'm assuming you somehow broke the timer system, however sprinting should be unaffected even if that does happen.
If it happens again or if you find out what causes it, feel free to make another bug report.
EDIT: Just as a precaution I have added additional checks to hopefully prevent this from ever happening again.
