This is already being implemented, give the devs time. Might even be done next week or so.
Also anybody who's going to complain about the lag this will cause, don't worry because it has been confirmed that you will be able to toggle the light effects for your client in case your computer has frame rate drops from the lights, and they will just show up as sprites.
