Well I managed to make the sky nighty with the help of the color tool and the editor tool (not on the night though), so this should be do-able.

Yes, the map can have a proper night / day cycle with the actual sky changing too!
To clarify, it would not require a map change nor would it require a map edit to make this happening, it is simple as going to the color box and change the color and some setting with the color tool, which 33x server do in fact have now.
