I'm glad to help you since I got the same problem and I solved it !
First, go in your settings of Garry's Mod and on the Keyboard settings, go down and set up a key for "Open Console" (I put F5).
Since that, I applied it to the settings and when I returned into the game, I opened the console and everything worked !!
