Ok I understand all except the barricade rule. No fading windows. Got that, but you infer that I can't set up props that make it harder for them to hit me. Like a bunker that protects my head and legs isnt ok? Thats considered doomforting? I think I have misread it, as that would take away greatly from defenses.
