Everyone says to start single player to fix the startup crash. Well, I've noticed that I always crash when joining almost any dark rp or fearless. So, instead of bugging your keypads. Join a random server. I use a sled build because it joins fast, then I can switch over to fearless and my keypads work fine. Just another solution for those who are stuck.
