Well %75 of Turkish Armed Forces are conscripts.Conscription time varies, with 15 Months for High School graduates to 4 Months for College Master graduates. It is mandatory for males, but women can volunteer for the Air Force and Officer Corps.Training usually consists of regular physical exercise, blank round training range, and some other things that vary according to service branch.Conscripts can only go as far as Başçavuş(Staff Sergeant). There is also the Maroon Berets which get thru a training which is called hell on earth.Only Maroon Berets and high-ranking officers know what goes in there. To end this post, here are the wars Turkey was involved in:
Turkish War of Independence(1919-1923)
Dersim Rebellion(1925)
Sheikh Said Rebellion(1926)
World War Two(Declared war on Germany right before Germany's surrender)
Korean War(1950-1953)
1960 Coup
1971 Coup
Turkish Invasion of Cyprus(1974)
First PKK-Turkish Conflict (1980-2013)
1980 Coup
1997 Memorandum
Iraq War(2003-2011)
Libya War(2011)
Second PKK-Turkish Conflict(2015-Ongoing)
War Against ISIS(2014-Ongoing)
Operation Euphrates Shield(2016-Ongoing)
Have I helped you or am I friendly?

When I was in Advanced Individual Training, we had 3 people from other countries, training along side us to learn our medical course. One of them was Egyptian, he was in the course to learn to be a nurse so that he could return to Egypt and train nurses. Aziz wasn't a bad dude, but seemed pretty much about the same as our regular military people.

The Irish state has a long-standing policy of non-belligerence in armed conflicts, including neutrality in World War II. Ireland's military capabilities are relatively modest. However, the state has a long history of involvement in United Nations peacekeeping operations. Functions of the Defence Forces include:
- Preparation for the defence of the state against armed attack.
- Assisting the police force, the Garda Síochána, including the protection of the internal security of the state.
- Peacekeeping, crisis management and humanitarian relief operations in support of the United Nations.
- Policing the fisheries, in accordance with the state's obligations under European Union agreements.
- Miscellaneous civil contingency duties requested by the Government such as search and rescue, air ambulance provision, providing secure air transport for ministers, assistance in the event of natural and other disasters, ensuring the maintenance of essential services, and assisting in dealing with oil pollution at sea.
The Army has approximately 7,300 active personnel, with 2,200 in the Army Reserve.
The Army's Special unit is called the Army Ranger Wing.
