I can't have Fraps on while playing because it bugs my steam ( Shift + Tab menu )
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?
I mean I can play with Fraps on. But I gotta Alt+Tab to see the steam chat, which is annoying since I kinda get spammed a lot.

It's kind of annoying, but to get shift and steam working while still recording you need to start up Fraps before you open up gmod. I had the same problem myself for quite some time, hopefully that will make it work for you.

My Fraps has always started when I start my pc, I guess that is why it has always worked

Well, I can start Fraps whenever I want (but not when I'm inside a game or DirectX11 crashs).
*EDIT* : Gamesdude is right, NEVER OPEN FRAPS WHILE BEING IN GAME OR IT CRASHS!
