Title of Bug: Avatar URL doesn't work
Description:
Attempting to change avatar using URL gives invalid URL error regardless of any link entered (tried HTTPS and imgur)
Evidence:

You cannot use .gifv files as avatar images
You typed in this:

A correct example would be this:

At least I'm fairly sure that's the issue.

You can use .gif files though, changing it to .gif doesn't work either. I also used the Arnux one for another gif avatar before changing avatar URL broke so it's 100% a bug.

Weird... you could maybe ask someone that you know has had a gif in their avatar and ask them how they did it.

Anyone who set it from before will keep it, setting it again doesn't work atm.

I thought it was only for me, because my avatar stopped working and thought it was something wrong with imgur.

Thanks for your report, it was an issue with secure content sniffing and server protection. All image file types will be allowed now as long as they are formatted correctly!
Fixed & Closed.
