Question about ban appeal - Tears - 02-01-2012

This is just being ridiculous.

You cannot post a unban request if your ban isn't longet than 24hours,
I've just saw someone who is now permbanned just because of his ban history.

Yesterday,
I got my ban, and (In my opinion atleast) It was false.
So I opened ban appeal (For understanding why am i banned/For explain the admins what do I think, To explain them my side of the situation)
And it got declined for that reason.

A person who cannot appeal on ban. even if it was false? Really?

RE: Question about ban appeal - Headster - 02-01-2012

Well if you want to find out why you have been banned, look on the ban page http://www.fearlessrp.net/bans/index.php instead of making a request. the 24 hour rule is for a reason, to make sure you have learnt your lesson ant to prevent other problems occurring

If you would actually read it, you will see that I do know why am I banned
And I still thinking that it was a false one.

Also, I said that I posted this thread for sharing what I think,
And what I think is, Everyone should have a chance to appeal their ban.
(I do not care of 1 day bantime, I care about ban history.)

RE: Question about ban appeal - Headster - 02-01-2012

Hmm, sorry about missing the hyperlink, i thought it was just to stand out >.>

It does look like Nudel did decline it without much notice but, it was in the unban section, i do haved to say if you make a thread like this one and make it so it does not stand out as a rage thread it could get some answers, however i do haved to agree that sometimes admins rush things and do not give chances sometimes, now i do understand why as they are very busy people and do alot for the community (Personal Opinion). Im not quite sure what to say from here on

RE: Question about ban appeal - Tears - 02-01-2012

Again, I am not posting it for making the admins to unban me,
As I said before, To take an option of appeal something from someone it isn't alright at all.
Everyone should have the opportunity for making an unban request even if it is not longer than 24 hours.

I actually did not understand this rule.

RE: Question about ban appeal - Killjoy - 02-01-2012

This rule is in place to stop people from overflowing the courthouse by appealing minor bans, which are usually given out as a warning, reminding the offenders of the disciplinary actions they would face if they wouldn't change their behavior.

But it still displays on their ban History Regardless of time period.

I Get what your Saying Tears..

RE: Question about ban appeal - Toby - 02-01-2012

Even if the ban was/wasn't valid i still believe in keeping the 24Hour rule, Few things you can do in that time:
1. Make sure you know the rules (Read them properly!!)
2. Make any Ban requests you may have or think we need to see

If you truly think it was unfair ban Please PM me or another admin (Some dont like to be PM'd about ban requests but if you are truly sure and have evidence.. Then i shall review it)
This might not stand for other admins but if needed pm me and i will take a look.

Just a quick note, If its a ban where you blatantly didn't know the rules or don't have respect for them, i will not review it.

So all in all, 24 Hour ban limit is there to make sure you know what you have done and why you shouldn't do it, If you are truly unsure on why you got banned, i would much rather you PM me and ask about it for example:

Ban Reason: Punching Dryblood in the face instead of listening (that happend btw)
Banning admin: Dryblood
Date of ban: 01/02/2012

Please use the template below + name the topic something like 'Unfair ban' or 'Could you explain this rule/ban reason'

But yeah as killjoy said It there to allow people to know what they have done and to stop it from happening again.

I suggest you to PM the admin you banned you personally if you think he made a mistake. Worked for me too once.

RE: Question about ban appeal - Fleet Admiral Zapington - 02-02-2012

the 24 hour rule indeed, makes no sence at all.
