RE: Learning LUA and shit - King Kickass - 01-06-2017 I keep records of what people say when i think it's important here are what i have on sources for coding Avgar recommends this. http://learnxinyminutes.com/ However he might have recommended this one actually http://stackoverflow.com/a/145179 which is about html or something. Then search on youtube i got the second one from MrTrashTag HolyWiredMod Omnifarous Education Coded Blue is also good but if you're interested in Glua the wiki Page is always good. RE: Learning LUA and shit - Ceddyhmra - 01-06-2017 https://www.lua.org/pil/contents.html#1 You can learn some from here too RE: Learning LUA and shit - Prompt - 01-06-2017 For HTML it's W3Schools.., but I'm good with the shit so RE: Learning LUA and shit - Envy - 01-06-2017 I also recommend https://www.sololearn.com/ . It questions you after learning something so that it actually sticks into ur head and u understand it. RE: Learning LUA and shit - Devon - 04-12-2017 Personally I think that the best way of learning a coding language is to get stuck in. Basically, I would recommend setting up a dedicated server first (https://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Hosting_A_Dedicated_Server). Then, use the gmod wiki to find methods/functions and create small projects. For starters, save code into a .lua file in lua/autorun/server then test away. If you start with smaller projects, then think of a bigger one you would like to focus your attention on, you will learn GLua very quickly. Generally I wouldn't advise the sites like sololearn and codeacademy as I feel like: a) it is quicker to learn with practical experience and b) you have a better understanding about how sh*t works (or doesn't ) with practical experience. |
