Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - Ms. Mudpie - 09-01-2010 It's a very simple rule and yet nearly everyone gets it wrong. You do NOT put an apostrophe in a plural! "I now own two house's" "I now own two houses" If you are writing about ownership, you use an apostrophe! "Joes Gunshop" "Joe's Gunshop" Most famous example - something belonging to a large group. "The boy's toilets" "The boys' toilets" The apostrophe goes before the S if the said object belongs to one person; It goes after the S if said object belongs to a group of nouns. RE: Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - fai222 - 09-01-2010 Its so simple. RE: Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - barrelroll - 09-01-2010 I already knew ? I've got like the Present Simple, Present Continous, Present Perfect, Past Simple etc. RE: Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - Skaara Dreadlocks - 09-01-2010 when you say it.. yea i ACTUALLY know that's true, but i've never really thought of it when writing >.< RE: Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - Ms. Mudpie - 09-01-2010 Skaara.. your signature. RE: Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - barrelroll - 09-01-2010 I do, you only have something with Example: Chris' Car or Chris's Car or something with no S behind it, i don't really get it. RE: Apostrophes/Apostrophe's - Ms. Mudpie - 09-01-2010 Ah, I'll add that. |
