I have been wondering, is the day/night cycle 24 hours, just like in real life, or is it shortened to, let's say, 2 hours day and night?

I believe it's a 30 minute cycle.

A cycle is 3600 seconds (60 minutes). So as Jan said, 30 min day, 30 min night.
