Yes, this was caused by a recent Gmod update to patch the global virus. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon and you, as well as others, will be able to play once again.

When Garry's Mod has an update, sometimes the servers also need to be updated. This will happen from time to time and this issue will be corrected as quickly as possible.
