The Scale of the Universe. - aviator - 08-22-2013

I found this animation on the BBC Science Club website. It is about The Scale of the Universe.

You can find it here: http://htwins.net/scale2/

You can zoom into tiny objects or zoom out to the huge scale of the universe.

Seen this before. I messed around with it for ages. It's really quite incredible how small we are when compared to the rest of the universe..

Indeed. I was amazed when I first saw this. It really is hard for one to comprehend how large the universe is.

Here's a thought for you, when you look up at the nights sky, and see all those stars, you are seeing history, you are seeing life and death, the window into the past.
Now light takes millions of years to reach us, so logically what we could see might not be there anymore, it might have faded away, our ancestors might not have seen it, to the naked eye we are gazing upon the history of life.

Make of that what you will, its a thought I like to have whilst smoking a cigar and watching the nights sky.
