There was another thread but that ones kinda old so just saying every sing time I try to start garys mod it fails and brings up a message that says (hl2.exe has stopped working) I do not know what to do about this I listened to doomdude and re-installed it and still the same thing.

Right click on Garry's Mod in Steam and then click on "Properties (Settings)". Now open "Set Launch Options" and put this in there :

Make steam check the game cache.
Game was updated, but had a rollback, that could be the problem.

My friend said its normal and its just garys mod is having problems I have not read this thread in a bit but ill try your way to fix it Generation thanks.
