No no no no no , make like real life , if is new it have better handling , speed , better engine , better noises , more hp , on real life when a brand launch new version is always better so m3 from 2006 and m3 from 2014 ..... i say , make the new m3 more fast and better! or make the old m3 more slow!

Also i dont think the old bmw will be good , noble can help it little but its almost impossible due to is construction , tdm and lonewolfie etc use games such fuerza motors to export their vehicles to gmod , so thats huge diference

RE: BMW restoration project - equal - 04-04-2015

The thing is, the new M3/5 will be a stock leisure automobile, however the old M3 is a customized rally version of the car probably supercharged with god-knows-how-many hourspowers under the hood.
The old one will always be faster, however I would love for them to have the same handling and prior to spawning you would be able to choose between the two or possibly be able to change the skin at a mechanic if possible?

It's starting to look amazing! The gear knob should get a model update though I think, I agree with Griim on that part.

That's what happens when you put a photo of a BMW M3's dash on an 8 year old model and then get close to it.

Feel free to impress me with your texturing/3D modeling skills anytime though, I could use the laugh.

On a better note though it's almost done and in-game, just have to finish up editing the VMT files and it should be good to go.

Damn, that just looks gorgeous.
Great job.

RE: BMW restoration project - Noble - 04-06-2015

Just finished it up today, still unsure at this point if the animations are okay but the model and textures are working okay at this point. I've only touched up the textures to the model, the model itself has been left untouched (for the most part) and I attempted to allow for color changing however even after setting up an alpha channel it's still applying the color to the entire body and interior. If I figure out what's going on I can easily fix it and allow for greater customization.

Overall file size increased by about only 4 MB and the vehicle is now composed of eleven 1024x1024 textures, this includes the 6 different skins. I've also copied a similar style used on the TDM BMW by using $detail to brighten up the dashboard, it worked pretty well. One issue I had was with the bumpmaps that I was going to use. They were causing the interior to reflect light too much and overall were not adding much to the vehicle. I was planning on using heightmaps only to learn that Gmod now no longer supports them natively.

New Exteriors - Doubled texture size and recreated the body paint, also fixed weird bumpmap.

I've sent everything off to Soul so we'll find out soon if everything works okay.

Wow, the old BMW looks horrible compared to your one! Great job.
I hope everything works fine.
