While I sympathize to the legitimate builders and their intentions, there is way too much room for misuse and abuse. I don't imagine that it would greatly impact server load, as I doubt it would be employed in mass, however the ability to control weight directly applies to the force of the object. As when you have a super heavy category prop, the world in a large range can hear and visually see it's impact, not to mention the strain of multiple smashing heavy objects. Thankfully, 95% of the super heavy objects are either large, or blacklisted. Let me paint the full picture for you though. Example: super tiny prop like the snowman's eyes, or any prop hula girl sized or smaller, are exceptionally easy to hide and hard to detect when set to full invis (which you can presently do using user tools). Now you have a super loud, heavy, screen shaking, minge version of the noisy cricket from Men in Black. Administration could have access, simply because they already have access to a ton of tools that are easy to cause serious issues with. They would be able to assist in constructions, should they feel like it. We can't have nice things here at Fearless RP. Proven fact. P.S. Most tiny props can be super thrown using fists or picked up and smashed by grabbing them with "use", making a super heavy, super tiny, invisible hula girl, near impossible to detect by any visual or system log means. Unless you got lucky scanning with a toolgun, it would be near impossible for a player to collect sufficient evidence to actually prove that said person was the cause of the disturbance, even though everyone there would know. Changing the weight of a prop doesn't make it any more dangerous to players and when prop pushing people can't even be directly killed by the prop, they are typically killed by the resulting mass of cars being flung about which changing the weight of the prop wouldn't make any difference to. The only downside to something like a weight tool is the extra processing the server will need to put in. But isn't that what all new features do? Being able to change the weight of a prop can open up countless doors for us to make intricate and amazing machines and mechanical structures for our roleplay. |
