Wouldn't work flawlessly, this does.
I use my own autorefresh on linux and it has worked without a fail.

Hey, does this mean that if new cars gets put in or stuff like that, we don't have to do anything and it will just update without restarting?

New cars are new .MDL which would need to be cached by the server, so that won't work. Small edits would work.
It does really come in handy on developing on the beta server, as you don't have to restart it every time when you are for example adjusting seats in vehicles.
