Try to remove all your addons if it doesn't work than try to remove all maps and run garrysmod trough steam again.
I had this problem to but at retrieving server info , Im sure the second thing works.

Add +r_hunkalloclightmaps 0 to your Garry's Mod launch options. If that doesn't work, add -dxlevel 81 to the launch options. If the game is still crashing, remove them from the launch options and first load the map via singleplayer.

Well , server promotes that it is helpful on forum (it shows when you connect server)
