Ban Lift - Tomo - 12-10-2019 Greetings Fearless,
Today we are announcing a new 'ban wipe' for the Fearless servers. This has been something of a large request by our player base for quite sometime and we believe by following through with one, we may be able to give Fearless a nice glimpse of life for returning players, giving them the chance to be reunited with the server and community they formerly loved, being able to experience Fearless in the modern day, with all it's changes of updates, maps, staff, player base and more.
Now, this will not follow through like the last one, as we will not be physically removing them from players records, instead we will simply be expiring bans that are still currently being served. Although this may annoy some users, it is important to understand that your personal records aren't the be all and end all of how you are perceived by people. Many players with extensive bans histories have been given the opportunity at joining the team and that isn't going to change.
Along with this announcement, all players that are currently on a UBR cool-down, will have their cool-down expire. This means that if you are waiting on writing another UBR but are unable to, you will now be able to post one without any repercussion. This of course, only goes from bans standing from today and any bans given since this post will not have this cool-down expiration.
Bans issued less than 2 months ago will not be lifted. We have done our best to execute this ban lift as accurately as possible, but due to the freedom staff members have when inputting ban reasons, it is possible that there will have been some discrepancies in spelling or grammar, meaning some bans may have been missed in the lift. Non-ToS perms should have been lifted, but if your ban has not, then you are entitled to post a UBR. In your UBR please put at the start of the body text that this is a ban that should have been effected by the wipe. If deemed, true - your ban will be lifted without discussion.
The majority of permanent suspensions that are considered ToS will not be expired. With this, some ToS bans should have been lifted. The following ToS type bans will remain:
Bans are not the only thing that will be getting lifted by this 'wipe', alongside bans we are lifting all active blacklists the staff have given out, as we aware that our team have adapted to giving out more blacklists rather than bans in recent years. All blacklists that haven't been given in the last month will also be getting lifted (again to reiterate, they are not being wiped from players records). Interestingly, from looking back at the database, it is evident that blacklists from many years ago possess ridiculous lengths by today's standards, meaning that many players likely left after feeling unable to play through these lengthy punishments.
We look forward to seeing many returning players enjoying the game once again, and we hope they make the most of this second chance they're being given.
Regards,
Tomo & Divey
