I think the reason people prefer the old version is becasue of how much they are used to it.

It's too euphoric, the original felt like "Very well, you finished the game, but you ain't free. (Mwahahahahah, still no cake)", and this doesn't feel like that, it feels more like "Yay! You finished the game! Here's your cake!", and Portal is loved because of the non-cake feeling.
So, I don't like it, the singer has a too young voice for this song.

I mean, its not bad.
However, you cant beat a classic.
Its not that I dont like this version.
Its just that the other version I would say is unbeatable because of how awesome GLADoS is.
