[Guide] How to: Chef
#1

Make sure you have read the rules before you read this.

How to correctly RP your job

Roleplaying as a chef is not easy. Without knowing how to RP your job you can lose a lot of customers, and no customers means no money. When someone approaches you to purchase some food make them feel welcome. So, instead of saying the typical phrase 'Hello.' Say something that really engages yourself with them. Such as; "Hello fine Sir! How can I help you today?" This makes them want to purchase food from you as you are a welcoming them in a kind a friendly way. Make sure your prices aren't ridiculously overpriced. For example, instead of selling your chinese for $2000 which is $750 over the normal price for chinese, sell it for $1500 as this way you earn $50 per box, overall earning you $250. Selling food this way makes customers much more likely to choose you over any other chefs in Evocity. Below is a price list of the normal market price and the usual selling price.

What not to do as a chef
Chef RP is passive so no carrying guns around. Instead of taking angry customers into your own hands call the cops.
Do not ridiculously overprice your food. Overpriced food will make customers look elsewhere for their food.
Do not hire grumpy staff who will not greet the customers in a nice and welcoming way. This will give the restaurant a bad image plus make the customers get very angry.
Do not give the customer the food instantly, use /me's and /it's and fetch the food out from the kitchen is a restaurant like manner. This is an exception if you have a food stand however it still applies to your fast food restaurant.
Do not place your food stand or base your restaurant in a run down area such as the slums as nobody passes here and it is very rare for someone to do so, plus they would much prefer to get out of there as quick as they can instead of taking a food stop. Placing your stand or shop in a built up area allows it to be noticed by the general public.
Do not advert your restaurant or food stand and not include the location. The location is vital and must be known to the general public.

Different types of RP

Spoiler :

What is a restaurant?

A restaurant is where people go to eat meals, a place to socialise and meet with their friends. A commercial establishment where meals are prepared and served to customers. Restaurants are more formal and the majority of the time planned visits. Restaurants are popular with couples looking for a formal meal instead of visiting a fast food chain. With restaurants you are more likely to wait for your meal instead of receiving it straight away.

What is a fast food restaurant?

A fast food restaurant is a easily prepared processed food served in snack bars and restaurants as a quick meal or to be taken away. With a fast food restaurant you can walk in order and your food will be ready almost instantly.

What is a food stand?

A food stand is a makeshift stall found in the street upon which snacks and foods in smaller quantities are served to the public. Food stands are a place where you pass by and eat on your feet or on a near by bench and most of the time have no seating area near.

Requirements for your restaurant:

First off you need a chef, the backbone of the restaurant. He/she must cook great food as without the chef, the restaurant is pointless.

Secondly, you need somewhere that is going to keep your food nice and fresh, such as these refridgerators.

Now, you need somewhere to prepare the food in your kitchen such as a set of counters like these ones.

Next, you have your food storage and it's now prepared. Now you need somewhere to cook this food such as a set of stoves.

In order for your food to be served, you will need a set of tables.

Now, your food is cooked, you have a set of tables, and what is cooked food and empty tables without customers? In order to get customers you need to make sure you have a clear visible sign so that it is easily recognisable.

Now, you have customers coming in so you will need someone at the front of your restaurant meeting and greeting the customers and allocating them to tables. This needs to be someone who is welcoming and not easily annoyed as you will have a steady flow of customers coming in and out of the door. Note that this person will also be the acting waiter/waitress.

Congratulations, you now have all the requirements for a restaurant. You have a chef cooking great food with the correct equipment. A friendly outgoing waiter/waitress, stunning sign. And lastly, bucket loads of customers coming through the door. As we all know, more customers equals more money!
