If I am in the UK and I have a English debit card will the $ currency change to the £ currency? (I am donating)

What you pay will be in Pound Sterling. You would be charged £6.39 (or whatever the current exchange rate you are using).

PayPal will convert the currency itself, if that is what you mean.
Just pay and they'll handle the rest.

As Joykill said. Paypal converts it free of charge. Don't worry about it converting. If you want the exact currency conversion at the time, Type $10 into www.google.co.uk and it should convert and tell you.
