This is beyond bullshit and it's been like this for 5 days constantly being 900-3000 ping and no way in hell to download anything. nothing buffers. pages take 5 minutes to load, took me 30 minutes trying to take this speed test

I'm pretty sure I nearly broke my routers restart button by turning it off and on this week.

Ring your ISP and follow these steps.

1. Immediately be mad, but not rude.
2. Explain the problem
3. Lie about it and tell them you've tried every fix they provide
4. Complain further
5. Threaten to switch Internet Service Provider due to the current issue
6. Probably get a free upgrade/fix depending on who your ISP is.

Congratulations, you've just got a free internet upgrade.
You're welcome.

That's ridiculously risky, considering I live out in the boonies and this is the only internet provider here other than satellite ( oh god no. ) i'm afraid.

Internet Service Provider information :

Aceweb Internet. Package is the highest they offer ( 3MB/s Download 0.50/s Upload )

Aceweb rents the wires near me from verizon.

The Router is a Comcast router.

the only option is sudoku.

Looking at the package you are paying for I wouldn't expect anything better than what your currently getting. So, tbh you are fucked.

I used to get 350kb/s download and pretty good upload back then from my 3mb/s package. I mean sure the ping spikes to 300-600 when someone watches youtube or streams netflix but it was atleast bearable. Same package and a shutoff later and now i'm getting unbearable below dialup speeds

RE: send help - MacTavish - 05-21-2015

This happened to me too, but it turned out just to be a malfunction in me router. I got a free replacement for it.
