Crashing on join. (Build, V2P, V2D Servers) - FallenMoons - 11-02-2014
When connecting to those servers I crash.
I've looked through all the info available already trying not to have to post this.
So if I connect to the build server or any of the ones mentioned in the title it says "Getting addon #" then "Workshop Complete" or something then freezes. So I figured i'd go and disable downloading of files and now it just gets to "Retrieving Server Info" then freezes.
I have no addons installed other than the maps and the content packs.
Help?

I had the exact same problem as you do. The way you might be able to fix it is by subscribing to the content packs on the steam workshop, disabling the downloading of custom files and then connecting. Leave it on for some time and it ought to connect you.

UPDATE: So it's only on the build server. Still no luck connecting though.

Okay, so still can't connect to v2d either.

So I fixed it. Here was how I did it for anyone else with the same issue.
1. Uninstall GMOD FIRST
2. Uninstall HL2
3. Uninstall HL2:EP1
4. Uninstall HL2:EP2
5. Uninstall HL2:LOST COAST
6. Uninstall CS:Source
7. Install GMOD
8. Run GMOD (Go intro single player then exit the game)
9. Download all the evo city map .zip files and put them into your maps folder then right click extract.
10. Run GMOD again, exit once the main menu is loaded.
11. Install all HL2 Content
12. Install all CS Content
13. Install FearlessRP Content Packs through the GMOD client.
14. Profit. ;D

Glad you've solved it, ima copy this into a notepad the next time i see someone with this problem
