For some reason when I try to join the server it says retrieving server info then it says thebestkiller timed out why is this? I really wanted to play but it says that.

Probably your PC/Garry's Mod is slow. Try deleting some addons, freeing space at your disk or defragmenting it. Also, you should try joining like 3 times in a row, sometimes every next try it's loading faster.

I think i had this problem ages ago when I first started playing, it could be the internet but I think i solved it by downloading the content stuff off the forums instead of downloading it all when connecting

But what do i do with the content where do i put it? and it gets stuck on the Retriving server info for a while

Humzahh it could be your Garry's mod maybe to much addons.
